IT IS DELICIOUS.

JELLY WITH MEAT GELATINE

THIS HAS PORK GELATINE AND IS FAT FREE

THINK THIS IS WHY IT USED TO WORK WHEN CHILDREN WERE TOO ILL TO EAT.

YOU WOULD GET YOUR IRON FROM THE JELLY.

YOU CAN EAT THE CUBES RAW OR MAKE INTO A QUICK JELLY BY DISSOLVING IN HOT WATER.

THE PRE MADE ONES DON'T DO ANYTHING AS THEY ARE VEGAN, VEGAN GELATIN DOESN'T WORK - THAT IS WHY THEY ARE RUNNY.


Preparation


It's so easy to make!


For best results separate into cubes and place into a jug/bowl.


Add 1/2 pint (285ml) of boiling water and stir until dissolved.


Add cold water to make up to 1 pint (570ml), stir then pour into mould/serving dish. 4 Allow to cool, then refrigerate to set.



REVIEW


JUST ATE A WHOLE PACKET OF ORANGE JELLY RAW. TASTES LIKE PROPER JELLY. RECENTLY REALISED THE PRE MADE JELLIES ARE VEGAN, SO THEY DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT CONSISTENCY OR TASTE.


REALLY ENJOYED IT AND AM GOING TO MAKE MY OWN JELLY IN FUTURE.


NOT PARTICULARLY HARD, SO NOT A PROBLEM.


YOU CAN EVEN ADD ALCOHOL IF YOU MAKE IT YOURSELF!!!!


IRON SUPPLEMENTS


What are the side effects of taking iron pills?

MANAGED TO GET A COUPLE OF TINS OF THIS. IT IS FROM POLAND SO SUPPORTS POLAND. QUITE GRATEFUL TO THEM FOR GETTING IT TO BRITAIN.


IF YOU HAVE NEVER TRIED IT, THE CAN HAS A LITTLE KEY ATTACHED ON THE SIDE. YOU PEEL BACK THE LABEL AND SEE TWO GROOVES GOING AROUND THE WHOLE TIN, THEN LATCH THE KEY ONTO THE END OF THE GROOVE STRIP. NEXT TWIST THE BOTTOM OF THE TIN OFF BY USING THE KEY TO TWIST ROUND. THE END OF THE CAN DROPS OFF AND OU CAN TAP THE MEAT ONTO A PLATE.


ONCE OUT CUT THE MEAT INTO THIN SLICES.

I QUITE LIKED IT ON ITS OWN AND HAD SOME IN A SANDWICH WITH TOMATOES, YOU COULD HAVE MUSTARD INSTEAD.


THIS IS A GREAT STORECUPBOARD PRODUCT EVEN IF MEAT COMES BACK.

GOOGLED IT AND BBC FOOD HAVE A RECIPE


QUITE EXCITED AS ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN THIS BUT COULDN'T FIND THE RECIPE


WITH LIMITED FOOD AT THE SUPERMARKETS THIS IS PERFECT. BUT WHEN FOOD COMES BACK IT IS STILL PERFECT FOR WHEN YOU HAVEN'T SHOPPED OR JUST WANT A QUICK MEAL.


HOPEFULLY TRY TOMORROW, WILL PUT THE RECIPE ON HERE NOW.


CORNED BEEF HASH


Ingredients

  • 500g potato, peeled and chopped

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 onion, roughly chopped

  • 340g can corned beef, cut into cubes

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • baked beans and a little curly parsley, roughly chopped, to serve (optional)

Method

  • STEP 1 Put the potatoes in a pan, cover with cold water and bring to the boil. Cook for about 6-7 mins, then drain.


  • STEP 2 Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan and cook the onion for 3-4 mins over a medium heat. Add the potatoes and corned beef, and push down with a spatula to crisp up, cooking for about 5 mins. Turn the mixture over, trying not to break up the meat and potatoes too much, then add the Worcestershire sauce. Cook for another 5 mins, pushing down to crisp the base again. Season a little, then serve with baked beans and a sprinkling of parsley, if you like.


YOU COULD USE TINNED POTATOES ALSO, THIS WOULD BE ALMOST A TOTAL STORE CUPBOARD DINNER.


IRN BREW


Does Irn-Bru have a lot of iron in it?


Irn-Bru contains 0.002 per cent iron (ammonium ferric citrate), but it isn't brewed.



WE TRIED SOME OF THIS AS IT MIGHT DO SOMETHING EVEN SUCH A SMALL AMOUNT, MAYBE YOU NEED TO DRINK A LOT?
